A couple of weeks ago, I went down to Yonge-Dundas Square to check our Monster Rock Orchestra. Although I had read about it, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but it was a lot of fun.
We were lucky that we were having a super warm October evening, so it was great to hang out, outside to check out this fun event. There was multiple performers and ended with Monster Rock Orchestra, a multi-piece band with LASERS!
The band played classics from Journey to Taylor Swift, there wasn’t a song that came on that I didn’t know and that I didn’t want to dance to. It was a fun night in the square, and best of all, it was free. I would definitely recommend checking out the next edition!
I went to Left Field Brewery to start a beer scavenger hunt with the Barley’s Angels. I was so glad I got to go by Left Field, I don’t get out there that often as I’m not in the neighbourhood but every time I’m back, I remember why I love it.
And this time, it was their gose.
Sorry this is only half full, it was so delicious, I drank half of it before remembering to take a picture of it. This raspberry hibiscus gose was light and fruity and not to sweet. I even picked up a couple of bottles to take home with me. I would definitely recommend getting to Left Field before it’s gone!
I can’t believe that we’re almost at 2 years of #DetoxToRetoxTO. Our most recent event was at Junction Brewery, probably the last time we’ll be at their smaller space on Cawthra as they prepare to move over to their bigger location on Symes!
We had a new teacher this time, Sal, who was super intense (but also really fun), I can tell you at the end of that class, I felt like I truly deserved my beer. Never have I sweat so much for a beer – sexy, I know.
We got to try 4 beers from junction, including their Engineers IPA on cask which I don’t normally like but this was really good and of course, some old faithfuls, like stationmaster stout, one of my favourites from Junction.
Our next event in November is sold out BUT December’s will be on sale soon! See you there!
