Let’s Go Blue Jays!!!!!!!!!! I couldn’t resist. What a game.

Although this week’s Thirsty Thursday probably isn’t what I would be drinking during the game, but it’s definitely a good wine to drink to relax after all that baseball stress.

I first tried this wine at the Gentlemen’s Expo a few weeks ago. As you can tell, I tried a lot of things there but they were all small samples… I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was just getting into red wines (a sign of my age, I’m sure) and they had this paired at the show with prosciutto so obviously I had to try it. To be honest, I had never even heard of a baco noir but it was so delicious, it didn’t have that bitter taste on the back of my tongue that usually turns me off of reds. Looking now, I can tell why I like it, it has hints of blueberries, my weakness. I had it with a chacuterie board I made last week with sharp cheddar and spicy salami and it was amazing.

The one I’ve been enjoying is the 2014, which is $14.95 at the LCBO. There is also a VQA Reserve version, which is $24.95, but I like my 2014 just fine.

Have you tried the Henry of Pelham Baco Noir? What did you think?
