Happy Friday everyone, and Happy July 4th to my American friends! It’s not going to be as ridiculously hot this weekend but there’s still a ton going on in the city!

Do: Starting tonight at Yonge-Dundas Square, you can check out the Franco-Fete, a festival celebrating Francophone culture. The event runs all weekend and there will be performances from a variety of performers. Best of all, the event is FREE.

See: There are lots of places to see outdoor movies this summer in the city and starting this Sunday, another place will be Christie Pits. This Sunday’s film is “A League of Their Own”, the event is pay-what-you-can and the movie starts at sunset.

Eat: Summerlicious started yesterday and it’s a great way to check out that restaurant you’ve been dying to try but your wallet has been holding you back on. I’ll be going later on, to momofuku, a place that’s been on my list for ages. Check out the Summerlicious website for all of the restaurants and even see what restaurants have availability for today.

Drink: Bacardi is taking over the distillery this weekend with their Festival Libre celebration. There will be performances, food and drink starting this afternoon and running until Sunday evening. Plus, there’s all the other fantastic things in the distillery that are already there!

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

And now, for some Nelly.
